Q1: What exactly does the 330878-91-05 measure?
A1: It measures the gap between the probe tip and a conductive target (e.g., shaft, collar). That gap changes as the rotor moves, vibrates, expands, or displaces. The sensor outputs a voltage proportional to that gap/displacement.


Q2: How linear and how far is its measurement range?
A2: For the 50 mm coil version (which the 330878 series belongs to) the maximum linear range is up to ~27.9 mm (1.1 in). The output is ~0.394 V/mm for that range.Note: the usable “linear” portion might be less depending on installation, target size, cable length, ambient conditions.



Q3: What is the power supply and wiring requirement?
A3: Typical Proximitor sensors require a negative DC supply (e.g., -17.5 Vdc to -26 Vdc) and a load resistor of 10 kΩ, for the 50 mm version.  Field wiring: shielded triad cable recommended, cable capacitance/inductance must meet spec to maintain performance.
